  Cheat Engine works perfectly well:
  you can edit atleast following things:
  Amount of skill points hero has
  gold and resources
  probably amount of units you have in stack and so on...
  all of those are 4 bytes, to notice though that each hero has unique amount of skill points.
  Even easier way to cheat with resources (which doesn't even require cheat engine) is to get main hero to level 6, get him skill which gives 75% of his experience to other champions and skill which makes him act like marketplace. Hire 4 other heroes and give them all that same skill (marketplace)... Suddenly you can sell stuff with higher amount of wealth than you buy via marketplace.

  And if you're cheating for gold, you can also search the values for units left to purchase. The value is the same for the base creature and the upgraded creature.
  It's pretty funny to have 6 units worth of 2000 or so archers. lol.
  Only thing is I have found that cheat engine crashes heroes VI beta if you cheat too much.

  it didn't work since the last patch for the beta. So they closed 'the door'.
